Teacher - Head Start – Fond du Lac
ADVOCAP’s Head Start program is accepting applications for a Teacher for our Fond du Lac Head Start Center. Position will begin mid-August! Head Start prepares children ages 3-5 with quality early childhood education in Fond du Lac and Green Lake counties. We help families reach financial, career, and educational goals, while building resilience and confidence for the entire family. This position will need to have a welcoming and friendly personality to ensure comfortability in working with kids and families that align with our core mission values for all employees. This position is responsible for overseeing the assigned classroom to ensure the implementation of and compliance with ADVOCAP Head Start operational procedures. This individual will provide guidance and support to the Teacher Assistant and Program Aide.
Responsibilities Include:
Monitor child progress & performance to ensure they are achieving program objectives
Consult with manager as needed to resolve complex issues
Ensure that assigned classroom scores a minimum of a 5 on the environmental rating scales
Ensure that assigned classroom scores above 5 in all dimensions of the Classroom Assessment Scoring System
Ensure the safety and security of children and families that you come in contact with in your assigned Center
Ensure the implementation of all ADVOCAP HS Operational Procedures within the scope of your assigned classroom and spaces within the facility
Attend home visits, parent conferences, and IEP meetings
Provide strategies to support children who are English language learners and their families
Attend professional development and ongoing training as required
Complete all required paperwork
Associate degree from 2-year college/technical school and 12 – 18 months of previous work experience or an equivalent combination is required to meet job standard
Must possess a valid driver’s license and travel occasionally up to 10% of time using a personal vehicle
CPR certified or willing to obtain
Physical/tb/drug screen and comprehensive background check required
Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic
This full-time position will work 36 hours per week, Monday—Thursday with occasional Fridays and weekends. Starting wage is $22 per hour based on experience. This position is for the program year, with summers off and will start in mid-August.
