Spray Foam Installer / Shop Support Specialist

Overview:
We are looking for a motivated, experienced Spray Foam Installer to join our team! This Full-Time position within the company is expected to consistently perform high-quality spray polyurethane foam insulation in our factory location in Fond du Lac, WI. No attics! No crawl spaces! No tight Spaces! All our foaming applications are done in a customized spray booth area in the factory with all the proper tools, safety equipment, and work environmental needs for the job.

Our product consists of modular structures with foam predominately in the base and ceilings of the structures. Your performance will depend on your quality, safety, efficiency, and following specific application specifications the company will train you on.

The right candidate will possess the ability to provide expertise in Spray Foam Installation (which currently is roughly 25% of the of the yearly job hours and growing) and the ability to adapt and be trained to other general duties in the shop (i.e. shipping & receiving support, general carpentry duties, material handling support, etc.).

Main Spray Installer Duties:

  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
  • Utilize company hand tools to prepare surfaces for insulation application.
  • Familiarity with foaming equipment, airless paint spraying techniques, related foaming materials, and especially proper cleaning of equipment post applications.
  • Work with Supervisors to ensure proper insulation techniques for product applications are adhered to.
  • In addition, this role is responsible for following specific application processes matching the needs and specifications of the finished product.
  • Assist with product movement in and out of booth (pre and post of the foaming process).
  • Technical Skills: Diagnoses and resolves spray foam issues. Has knowledge of how to break down and clean a spray foam gun as well as how to troubleshoot actual chemical issues.

Main Shop Support Duties:

  • Shifting to other shop floor duties at various stations when Foaming is not a need or scheduled.
  • General Carpentry skills and use of various hand tools.
  • Shop support based on experience or a willingness to be trained for added responsibilities.
  • Assist in general labor skills within various workstations based on skill experience.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 2 years of prior experience in Spray Polyurethane Foam installation is desired.
  • Previous experience as a Spray Foam Installer or in a related construction field.
  • Knowledge of spray polyurethane foam insulation safety protocols and procedures preferred.
  • Light Carpentry experience.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • General & Process Inspection experience is also a plus.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent time management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, operate, and maintain equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Preference is for experience in spray foaming, and also in light carpentry.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, spray application on some scaffolding, kneeling, and walking.
  • Working environment may be subject to temperatures fluctuations, confined spaces at times, dust/dirt, hazardous chemicals, and minor heights.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
