School Readiness Coach - Head Start – Fond du Lac

ADVOCAP’s Head Start program is accepting applications for a School Readiness Coach to begin in August of 2025! Head Start prepares children ages 3-5 with quality early childhood education in Fond du Lac and Green Lake counties. We help families reach financial, career, and educational goals, while building resilience and confidence for the entire family. This position will provide on-site, in-classroom coaching for staff. Provide intensive individual coaching during class time to improve teacher interactions and child outcomes toward school readiness. Provide ongoing monitoring of all education content area requirements and produce monthly monitoring reports. Ensure program compliance and serve as the implementer of individualized plans to support the children and teachers in the classroom. Ensure disability services in all child development centers are in compliance with childcare licensing, Head Start Performance Standards, ADA and IDEA.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Facilitate coaching with individual and groups of education staff using the PBC curriculum and coaching cycle
  • Provide modeling of best teaching practices in the classroom for classroom staff
  • Assess classroom environments for the impact on a child’s behavior and development including the use of
    space and arrangement of equipment, developmentally and culturally appropriate lesson plans, activities,
    materials and the communication and interactions with children
  • Conduct and Facilitate department training sessions
  • Ability to work with at-risk children and their families
  • Ongoing program compliance monitoring of education component area
  • Support the implementation of Creative Curriculum program wide
  • Support ongoing child assessment using Teaching Strategies GOLD child assessment tool
  • Supporting the implementation of Conscious Discipline and Pyramid Model social emotional curricula

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college/university school in ECE, IECE or Child Development and 12 – 18 months of previous work experience or an equivalent combination is required to meet job standard
  • DPI teaching certificate, preferred
  • CLASS certification within 6 months of hire
  • GOLD Inter-rater Reliability Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and travel occasionally up to 20% of time using a personal vehicle
  • CPR certified or willing to obtain
  • Physical/tb/drug screen and comprehensive background check required
  • Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic

Salary and Benefits:
This full-time position will work 36 hours per week, Monday—Thursday with occasional Fridays and weekends and will start in August 2025. The entry/starting wage for this position is $21.50 per hour, negotiable based on experience.

This full-time position will have access to health, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, vacation, sick and
holiday pay, and our employer contribution 401k.
