This position plans, implements, supervises and evaluates all programs and activities for youth in grades 1-5 in the afterschool program. This position is also responsible for supervising program staff, recruiting members and collaborating with day school personnel.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Prepare Youth for Success
Ensure programs, services and activities prepare youth for success, promoting safety of members and quality in programs at all times.
Oversee the planning, organization and implementation of a range of outcome based program services and activities for members and families
Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests.
Provide leadership, guidance and behavior support to members to ensure an inclusive environment.
Health, Safety and Equity
Maintain a safe environment by implementing behavior support policies and procedures and using trauma informed care practices.
Ensure member success by maintaining productive relationships with caregivers, school personnel and others who support them.
Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed correctly and communicated to all by facilitating crisis plan creation, education and practice. Attend all safety meetings/trainings.
Marketing and Public Relations
Increase visibility of Club programs via posting of schedule, regular announcements of upcoming events and the dissemination of timely information for the development of advertising and promotions in the community.
Facilitate communication with community stakeholders to increase program capacity.
Program Operations
Work closely with Impact Program Directors to incorporate specialized initiatives into programming
Maintain accurate attendance, behavior and achievement records for reporting purposes.
Maintain an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order, recommending requisitions as necessary. Ensure procedures are in place to ensure separation of day school and afterschool physical properties and equipment.
Maintain a presence during the school day to establish a teacher network. Connect the school day to after-school activities by maintaining consistency in daily procedures and a continuous level of communication that serves to identify and address the needs of program participants.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruit, train and lead team members.
Establish a staffing schedule that ensures appropriate youth to staff ratios.
Empower, guide and develop teammates so they are able to provide guidance and behavior support to members and to successfully implement daily program activities.
Ensure an inclusive and productive work environment by having clear communication, consistent expectations and providing continuous feedback and support.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 2+ years of experience working with youth
Supervisory Experience
Must hold a valid State Driver’s License and personal auto insurance
