Home Based Early Learning Specialists - Head Start – Berlin
ADVOCAP’s Head Start program is accepting applications for Home Based Learning Specialists for our Berlin location. Positions will begin mid-August! Head Start prepares children ages 3-5 with quality early childhood education in Fond du Lac and Green Lake counties. We help families reach financial, career, and educational goals, while building resilience and confidence for the entire family. This position partners with families to support children’s early learning, development, and school readiness through home visits, parent-child educational experiences, and family goal setting. The role empowers parents as their child’s first and most important teacher while fostering strong family engagement and promoting positive outcomes for children and families.
Responsibilities Include:
Conduct weekly home visits with enrolled families to support child development, school readiness and positive parent-child interactions using a research-based curriculum
Plan and facilitate multiple monthly group socialization experiences for children and families to promote learning, social-emotional development, peer interaction and family engagement
Complete developmental screenings, ongoing child assessments, observations, and documentation to monitor progress and identify potential concerns
Work weekly with Family Development Specialist to collaborate with families, community agencies, and program staff to coordinate services and ensure children receive needed health, nutrition, mental health, disability, and family support services

High school degree or GED or HSED and 3 – 5 years of previous work experience is required to meet job standards; a 2-year degree highly preferred
Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred
Must possess a 2-year degree or Home Visiting CDA within two years of hire
Must complete CDA within 18 months of hire
Must possess a valid driver’s license and travel occasionally up to 70% of time using a personal vehicle
CPR certified or willing to obtain
Physical/tb/drug screen and comprehensive background check required
Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic
This full-time position will work 36 hours per week, Monday—Thursday with occasional Fridays and weekends. Starting wage is $20.00 per hour, based on experience. This position is for the program year, with summers off and will start in mid-August.
